PR bulb for maglite?

Yes, these ones will be OK in a 4D (or 4C) with 4X NiCd or NiMH batteries.

Not sure if the reflector and/or lens will survive the heat, though....

Pelican also has an 8W bulb designed for 6D cells. I think it is 3804, that may also be worth looking into.

Yes.

There are several 6V and 7.2V "medium-power" choices from Philips, Pelican etc, but what is exciting about this bulb is that it reaches this category at 4.8V.

(By "medium power", I mean the 6-15W range)

Unfortunately, RS Components (Australia) don't carry it. Otherwise, I'd have ordered one by now.
