I wish this wasn't my first post, but the light arrived yesterday and won't work at all.
Yes + side up toward head, tighten bezal all the way and nothing.
Am I doing something wrong?
This was supposed to be one of my sons presents for his 18th birthday on Monday.
Tried to post in the 4Sevens forum but it would not let me.
Is there a quick fix?

hi there.first of all

:welcome:
i´m sorry that you have problems with the revo.

are you sure that is the light not working?.could it be the battery?did you try another one on your light?
don´t have a revo yet (one on its way),but after checking that the battery works, for sure it´s a problem of contacts.normally it is the spring not making contact with the battery, but don´t belive the revo (by looking at the review´s pictures) has one.
the 47 forum is in cpf marketplace.you need to register there to post.
hope it helps

i read where one owner had the neg contact parts fall out. make sure they're in the bottom of the battery holder.

Got one of the inexpensive fenix aaa lights at the same time. The alky that came with the revo and a aaa eneloop both work in the fenix but not in the revo.
I will check on the neg contact parts, which was my first thought also. Since there is no spring I'm not really sure what to look for.
The battery seems tight, there is no rattle.
Thanks

Try powering just the head using some pieces of wire, pos to the center contact and neg to the outer brass. If this fails, it's in the head and it needs to be returned.

I'm sure 4sevens will work with you on shipping quickly.

Sorry to hear that your Revo got problem. I hope it could be fixed before your sons birthday.

If you have DMM ( digital multi meter ) or Analog Multi Meter. You also could use this to check the flashlight head if it works or not. Picture below taken from Simple guide to using a DMM for measurements by CPF member HKJ.

Thanks for that tip, good idea, but no go, so must be in the head.
I have an email to 4sevens. We will see, as you say I am sure they will make it right.

I had a light where the spring had gone missing, popped a spring from a ballpoint to check and it worked, sent the light back, was changed by return of post, job done, but I do not own the light in question so let us see what owners of your light come up with.

Update: 4 sevens customer service

Well, 4 sevens customer service could not have been better.
They had a new, (tested) Revo in the mail to me first thing Monday morning.
They refunded my return shipping costs, and the new light is great!
You can't ask for more.
The only problem now is I want to keep the Revo for myself.
Do you think my son will notice if I substitute an E01 in place of the Revo?
When he saw the Revo on my key-chain I would just have to keep it on low. :)

Re: Update: 4 sevens customer service

He might notice if he has played with Prevo for a while.

Or maybe you could order other Prevo on 4sevens? they have released limited version with neutral white emitter
