Does that mean that the mini-HID is using a deep(er) reflector from the looks of the bezel or is it just the bezel protruding out?

Its the usual sized reflector.... its just the bezel that gives the impression that its deeper.... the 55mm bezel actually gives you the option to use standard photography lens filters and options in front of the light...
