Protective Goggles - is $59 Reasonable ?

Is the price of $59 reasonable? To me these are just orange glasses. Could I simply take a pair of old sunglasses . . . pop out the lenses . . . and replace them with orange transparent plastic ? Or maybe just cut two lenses from a cel sheet of orange transparent filter plastic.

I am sure the expensive Goggles are tested, measured for various light frequencies, etc. But 59 bucks ?? Wow.

Can you really put a price on protecting your eyes?

IMO $59.00 is cheap....as long as they work correctly
