I haven't measured it, but I don't believe the current draw is particularly high or unusual. The brightness and intensity of the beam in the Impact comes from the lens which concentrates the beam.
Since it is running off 4 AA cells, you should get a good long runtime out of it. Princeton Tec claim 150 hours, which may be pushing it, but I'm sure you could get a couple of days out of it without much trouble.
