PT Quad Tactical version

Looks cooler to me then the regular Quad. With the addition of the red filter for night vision preservation, doesn't look like its any different from the original.

Ah hell, I'm going to get one anyways because I really like the Quad and its flood. Now if only the tint was whiter....

Actually I just got it :wave:...the beam pattern is a little different from the original quad. It is not as floody at the bottom or the top because the new plastic part surrounding the LEDs. I don't know if I like it yet. :thinking:

Tuna- is the new one a bit dimmer than the old one? A while back they had mentioned that they may cut the output a bit because the Nichia U-bin drew more current than the ones they had in there before.

Archangel, no difference in output to my eyes though I had heard the same thing. Tac appears to have same output just not as floody of a beam.

just got mine...

first impressions... i like it... it doesn't seem quite as bright as the original quad... but its worth it... i would love to see the same headlamp with two SSC P4 LEDs or something ...

Cool beamshots, Tuna! Hmm, the decrease light projection for the top and the bottom might make it a little harder for me to use as a trail hiking light. I guess I just need to get one and try it out.

Is the tint on the new Quad tactical a little whiter then the Quad regular's bluish LEDs? Or same?

When using with the red filter, does it cut the light amount in half or close to it? Just wondering.
