Put an Opalec into a DoubleBarrel 4AAA?

Greetings all,

I have this red DoubleBarrel 4AAA that I have not been using. I also have an Opalec that I picked up on a trade that had mounting pins broken off the bottom of it. Is there any reason that I can't just bore out the bulb holder on the DB and open up the hole in the reflector and epoxy the Opalec in there?

Hmm, I am not real firmilar with the opalec, but
You should be able to rig up something.

i modded a 4AA one with a MM+ and TWAK, it turned out rather nice.
I had to make a large heat sink for it, or corse.

If you didn't trade it for that much, I don't see why you should have any reservation. Stick two pins in the holes, see if that works. If not,drill away.If that dosen't work, pry off plastic and hope for the best. Once the input voltage is not over 3V, you should have no problems.

The only problem you may encounter is that the bulb pin holes on the Double Barrel are about twice as far apart as the pins on the Opalec. It may require a little bending of the pins on the Opalec, but should work fine...
