Hi, guys

I cant find info about Quark mini AA warm white and 14500. According specifications it doesnt support 14500 :shakehead. I know it works with Quark mini R2 or R5. Does anybody try this combination and how it works? Thanks

I've been using this combination since I first got the light back in April 2010. No issues so far.

I did have to cut the spring though (approx. 1cm) in order to fit the TrustFire 14500 cells I'm using with it. If you do intend to use a 14500 cell, use high mode sparingly as it heats up the light very quickly. There is simply not enough mass in that little body to be used as a heatsink when using a 14500 cell and lighting the thing up in high mode.

I just bought the warm AA, because it could be officially run with 14500s.

As has been typed, on full it gets hot very quick.
Just grip it in palm, thats perfectly ok.

Thanks guys for the respond...
I see its possible to use it with 14500, so now I would like to get some 14500 which are 50 mm. Because I dont want to cut any spring... Any options?

Don't know the exact measurement specs, but my AW "safe chemistry" orange label LiMN 14500's are shorter than the standard black label 14500's with the protection circuit, and thus fit more comfortably in my Minis whereas the black labels have a very snug/tight fit that I'm not comfortable with.

I used an unprotected IMR type cell with amazing output. Put the battery in wrong side (no nipple) one day and POOF! The mini was dead. BE CAREFUL!

AW IMR: 48.75mm., AW 14500 protected: 50.93mm.. I bought the the IMRs for my 2 NiteCore EZ AAs as my protected 14500 were too long for these lights. They work in all my AA lights EXCEPT my EZ´s, (first edition) with these batteries when I screw down to bottom the light turns on to low and no more. Fun.
