Question about Arc6 and rechargeable batteries.

Just to make sure I understand, the reason why my Arc6 turns on at Level 7 and then appears to drop to Level 6 after about half a second is because the 3V CR123 can't output enough wattage, right? If I switch to unprotected 3.6V CR123's, that will take care of that problem?

If so, two more questions follow:

1. Can the Nano charger charge unprotected cells, or only protected cells?
2. Can my Fenix P1D and P3D (and potentially, the Jetbeam Jet-III M) also use unprotected cells without risk of failure, or are they not as smart as the Arc6 is?

I'm not saying they can't be used but Fenix doesn't recommend them for the 2 models you mentioned.
