Question about new SF E2e

I just received my SF E2e from Strategos -- LOVE IT!! (Of course)

Couple of questions:

(1) The box included a sticker on the outside that said "LITHIUM BATTERIES INSTALLED". Sure enough, the batteries were already installed inside the light (I've bought numerous other SF's and this was the first one that came this way). Is this the way that all E2e's come?

(2) My serial number is A17425 -- anyone have one newer/later than this? (Just curious...)

This was observed several months ago as well... yep, they're all like that now, especially with the LOTC.

Same here. Got this one 2 weeks ago. Has new style bezel and batteries installed.

I got one on eBay about a month ago -- unopened -- with batteries sticker, batteries, and scalloped bezel. A16404.

I believe that the numbers are put on during manufacture and not during assembly so the numbers don't always correlate to age.
At least that's how it used to be.
When the contacts in the original bezel were changed the newer bezels were put on older bodies and still showed old/early part numbers.

Does the new bezel change the beam pattern much? Do you prefer it to the previous one?

I haven't seen the beam pattern for the old bezel, but the new one sports a circular side spill with scalloped edges. My guess is that only the scalloped effect around the outer edge is different.
