Question on heat transfer.

I am about to do my second mod.

I have an old style Mag 2 D and I am about to machine a 'Hot lips' style mount. To get the maximum heat transfer, do I need to get rid of the black anodizing on the inside of the mag where the metal to metal contact will take place.
