Question on multi-meter??

I have read of taking an ma reading with a multi meter. Well I have a sperry dm-350a meter. It has a setting that says dcma and the numbers on the dial is 200, 20, 2. Can some one please enlighten me as to what and how to use this feature? And also there is a place on the dial that ia an arrow with a line throught the point. any ideas as to what this is?? 200 is 200ma, 20 is 20ma, 2 is 2 ma.
The arrow is diode check.

The 200, 20 and 2 are ranges. If what you are testing is 20mA or under, you'd use that range. You just need to hook up the meter in series with your circuit, and set it to the proper range.
