I'm plannong to order a 140 narrow, just wondering if the tint is real yellow. I was told the narrows use the Osram emitter
I like the tints on my Novatac 85P, and Surefire KL5a. Any beam shots that show the difference.
Thanks I think I'm going toward the Light. :)

Hello I'm planning to order a 140 with a narrow beam I was told this has the Osram emitter and it has more of a yellow tint. I have a Novatac 85P and a Surefire L5 with KL5a and tend to like that tint more any beam shots, of the Osram lovecpf

On my 170Cn, the tint is definitely on the creamy side of white, but it's not as yellow as the R2 in my Nitecore D20 for example.

There is some tint variation across the beam too, with a very faint purple halo around the corona that you will only notice when white-walling: in real use it is not an issue, but I do wish that the main beam were a bit whiter.

Still, I guess that what the CGT models are all about. As with everything, you pays your money and takes your choice I guess.

200 Lumens, Guaranteed Tint with a narrow beam would be nice though . . .

yeah sorry bout that, our company firewall seems to not let forum responses go through correctly. Sometimes if it doesn't, I generate another. I'll have wait a little longer in the future. MB

Hmmmm, Let's see, So, stay with the 140 standard and get a seoul, which is basically the same as the Novatac or go for the 140CN narrow which is a different tint, leaning to a less white and not as percieved bright as the seoul.

The seoul tint tend to be more even across the beam but with substantually less throw.

My GD Nitecore D10 has a cool beam with the golden hallow around the white hotspot - it isn't as dramatic as it sounds and it's only visible when white wall hunting.

The GD I have in my Ra Clicky definately has a better, more even tint similar to the seoul emitters out there but with more throw - tint is still a lottery but I definately picked a winner with my Ra Clicky. I consider the GD Clicky a nice all rounder - nice tint, nice beam & good throw for an EDC light.

Well in about 2 weeks or less I should see one of these Cc140nCsbBFE. I'm gonna try the Osram emitter. I always want to buy local/domestic, US made, So why not. I'm tired of a majority of the lights I've bought in the last few years have been imports, not that their not good but.
I know this country can make great lights also. Yeah it's not a retina sizzlin, super nova. But then that's not what it is meant to do. Henry was real nice to talk with very informative, no sales pitch just facts I guess.:D
can't wait.

Congratulations on your new purchase. You will be amazed at how small the GD emitters are!! So much from so little!! The GD emitters do handle the low levels really well too with no flicker. Mine can go right down the very lowest level and the output is perfectly even with no pulsing!!

Didn't you just post this same topic ? Differently worded ?

texbaz... It is a great nuisance when members cross-post as you have done. It causes confusion and duplication, and CPF staff have to waste time sorting out the resulting mess. That is why it is specifically forbidden by Rule 9.

Please either sort out your company's firewall, or stop using your company computer network to post, or wait long enough between posts to make sure this does not happen again.

One other thing to think about is the Osram tends to tint shift across the different levels. May not bother you, but annoys me.

Thanks James I'm looking forward to seeing how an Osram emitter shines.

Thanks for the tip TooSharp, I didn't think of that. Might bother me too, we'll see.
