Found a PR base bulb lying around. Marked on the base is "GE KPR141". Decided to try it in a 2D flashlight I also keep lying around loaded with two Nicd's. Result? Nearly as bright as my Tec40.
(no kidding ... ) Found out why when I found this info on the web.
http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/t.pl

KPR141 bulb specifications:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

category: Miniature
volts: 2
amp/watt: 1.2A / 2.4W
base: P13.5s - Single Contact Miniature Flange
glass: B-3-1/2
filament: C-2R
m.o.l.: 1-1/4 inches
l.c.l.: 1/4 inches

notes:
Xenon

So, this lamp draws 1.2A at 2 Volts. The Nicad's are 4000 mah's from Hosfelt. So the bulb is being overdriven by 0.4V. Bulb should be 1.66 ohm for 1.2A @ 2V, and the Nicd bats' should be able to deliver (I guess) the full resulting amperage of
1.45 for almost 3.5 W ... If bulb life suffers too much, seems like a good application might be an incandescent light with smaller (AA or AAA) rechargables for power?

I'm surprised it's xenon. KPR usually denotes krypton. And that's the first PR-Based xenon I've seen at that amp rating. Do you remember where you got it?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Wish I did ... but you can bet I will try to find more of 'em

are you sure thats not xpr?
and if the one you have is like the ones i have you have to be careful about plastic lights.
the ones i got are private labeled benshines with same specs as your ge.made to be run on a single sla cell.they work just fine on nicads though.

Snakebite:

Printing on bulb: definitely "KPR", perhaps specs "notes" from "donsbulbs" in error ...

topbulb.com lists the KPR141 in the printed catalog I've got, but not found on their website ...

These are the bulbs used in some of the 1 cell PbSO4 lights that used to be popular for emergency lights--the kind that look like a normal flashlight, but that have two little prongs coming out of them and fit over an electrical socket and come on when the power fails. You can then take them out and walk around with them and not bump into stuff. I think they're a couple bucks for 2 of them at Walmart.

You are overdriving them and the bulb life will suffer, but they're cheap, so who cares?

yep these were oem'd for pittway/first alert by benshine.and i beat one to death in the name of science.took 10 recharges of the 5 ah d nicads in a 2d m@gl*ght.
i wound up with a bunch of these so holler if you cant get them locally.
and the k means krypton fill gas.
gee i wonder what donsbulbs is paying for these seeing what he sell them for. been selling them 4 for $1 at the hamfests.

2 volts @ 1.2 amps for 2.4 watts is pretty interesting. I haven't seen such high power low voltage bulbs in years...

Wallyworld sells KPR141's under Rayovac name.

Card says "K141" and "Krypton".

Lamp base says "KPR141 2V 1.2A JAPAN INAI".

Packaged (2) lamps per card for about $2.

Brighter in 2D light on alkalines than Phillips HPX21 Xenon.
