This morning while I was in Walgreen's I spied a nice compact little light on sale for under $10. It's the Ray-o-Vac Sportsman with a 20 lumen .5 watt LED that looks like a CREE. It is water resistant and has a nice rip stop belt holster. It runs off the 3-AAA magazine and a cursory test shows that it probably is around 20 lumens. The throw is fairly good for such a small light but there is a noticeable blue tint. The package claims a 45 hour run time. I think that due to it's size and decent beam vs runtime it will be a good "carry all the time" light.
Tip: If you plan on getting one of these, look closely at the LED to make sure it's centered in the reflector. It took me 3 looks to get one perfectly centered.
