I recently picked up a back of Rayovac Hybrid batteries today, and I have some Duracell Pre-Charged, BLACK tops.

I quickly remembered that the duracells that i have with black top resembles these Rayovac Hybrids.

I've looked the the battery, top, bottom, all around, and it seems to be the same battery.

Would there be the chance that they are?

They are very likely both made by Yusa-Delta. The Made in Japan Duracell Pre-Charged were rebadged Eneloops.

The rebranded Eneloops were the white tops. I have a couple of them.

I haven't even touched the black topped ones because i knew they're not rebranded eneloops, and I thought they wouldnt offer the same performance as Eneloops.

Arent all these LSD cells more or less around the same performance?

My two year old rayovac Hybrids made in China (black tops) seem to be very close to same as Eneloops. The only real difference I see is they do not hold voltage as well at higher loads (1A) as the Eneloops but then the Eneloops are new. At a 250 mA (1/4 amp.) discharge rate they are almost identical and the Hybrids have close to 100 discharges on them.

Yeah.. I have a bunch of ROV Hybrids here too. (They're available locally, so I don't have to pay for shipping.)

Yet they also charge up my camera flash instantaneously, unlike regular NiMH.

So I think mostly ALL lsd cells are just about the same as far as I'm concerned. It's just that Eneloops are the 'high-end' ones because of higher voltage under load, and more importantly have a lower self discharge rate. Fortunately though, my camera isn't voltage sensitive - and even has a 'discharge' feature built in.
