Rechargable or Non-rechargable

I have a Surefire P90 (I use three CR123 batt) and I'm going to put a Cree R2 Drop-In 1-Mode LED Module in it. My question is should I stick with the Surefire CR123 batteries or switch to rechargable ones? If I do switch, will it affect the lights output and, will it increase or decrease the amout of heat produced? And yes, I'm a total noob at this.

what is the voltage range of the R2 drop in your using? I prefer using rechargeables in my drop-in lights... if the drop-in can handle it, use 3 RCR's or 2 17500's. Id keep the cr123's on hand though just as backup.

It says the Input Voltage Range is: 3.7V~18V.
