I am looking for an inexpensive 1xAA light that will ship in a reasonable time frame. (no DX) They will be a work lights, that will get beat up, lost and broken. Maybe.....1 hour on high? I would prefer flood over throw, but what ever, just looking for the most durable I can get cheap. I am not really educated on "budget lights", and any help would be great.

Sounds like what you need is shiningbeam, go to their website. Their carry alot of similar brands to dx, but they test them first and ship out from new york so delivery is very fast. They also offer upgraded and neutral tint versions of many of their lights. I recommend checking out the romisen rc-g2 or rc-29. The ITP A2 is good as well.

The coupon code "CPFuser" gets u a discount. 5 or 6% I think.

Not sure what you mean by budget. If it's around $20 then you can get a Romisen RC-G2 (cool or warm white, body color black or gray) from shiningbeam.com, or a twisty iTP A2 (might be more floody than the Romisen). The multi-mode minimaglites aren't bad either and you can probably get one from Home Depot closeby.

edit: Soleks gave the same answer but faster.

For something that can be abused and eventually lost, I personally prefer the cheapest 1xAA lights that I can find. You can find them for anywhere between $1.50 and $5.00 online, and some of the Chinese shippers are very quick. The Chinese postal system is actually fairly quick these days, it's just DealExtreme that gets on everybody's nerves.

Thanks guys. You saved me some searching time. And time is money, so in a perfect world you would be getting a check in the mail. But.............not. Thanks.lovecpf

Another option is goinggear.com. They have several of their itp lights at 20% off. Add 10% forum discount to that and you can get a pretty good deal.

itp is one of the best budget brands that is still 'name brand', and has solid quality. I have several lights from them.

Here are a few links to get you started:

Discounted light. Bigger 1xAA with more controls and twice as bright. http://goinggear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14_19&products_id=95

I think the discounted one will be your best bet for a worklight. It will be easier to hold than the tiny A2, can produce twice the light, and you can adjust the brightness to exactly where you want it and memorize that mode.
