what is the difference between the surefire c3, z3 and d3? The z3 and c3 seem to have a more useful body design-- and the d3 a more traditional setup. Would it be worth it to save for an m3? What are the advantages? Thank you for the time and info. I have searched but information is very jumbled and hard to sort through

The difference between the C3, Z3 and D3 are the body design styles in the main.
C3 - HA or BK finish, Pyrex lens, PocketClip and CombatGrip
Z3 - BK finish, Adjustable CombatGrip and lanyard
D3 - BK finish, PocketClip [discontinued for sometime now]

Yes, I think it's well worth saving for the M3. Especially with the KT4 TurboHead and yet to be released KL6 5W Luxeon Bezel.

The M3 comes with the MN16 High Output Lamp Assembly as well - it's HA, a larger diameter reflector produces a bigger light beam that has good throw. I think the M3 is the only way to go in the options for three SF123A models.
