removing HA

Does anyone know how to remove HA and then make it shiney like a grey kit? I am getting an LS-S and I want to make make it grey. Also, can the LED be easily changed?

Red devil lye works very well, though you'll need to completely disassemble the light, remove all of the electronics, optics, o-rings, and plastic pieces before you dunk it. If you can get the head assembly apart to do this, you shouldn't have any trouble changing out the LED if you're moderately handy with a soldering iron. I've stripped the HA off of the bezel of my grey kit this way, but I've never disassembled a production LS, so I don't know how difficult it will be. I know it has been done, though, you may need to search around a bit.
