Hi.. I'm trying to remove the HA3 on an infinity/gerber ultra so it's
plain aluminum. But I'm having a really hard time doing it.
I'm using jeweler's polish and it polishes up the HA to a shiny
silky gloss, however, I can't get to the aluminum yet.

Should I just get some rough sandpaper or a file and work on it?
Will HA3 break my file?

Caustic soda/Red devil lye is what you need. Mix up a weak solution and drop in the part you want to strip. Keep checking every few minutes by scrubbing with a wire brush or similar, the HA coat will eventually come right off.

You need to keep a close eye on it though, if left in too long it will eat right into the aluminium itself and cause pitting.

I need something to remove the HA on only the reflector.
My attempts at sanding it down have turned bad. It looks horrible
with some aluminum showing up but still with a nasty green
tint.
