Removing LS from board

I am hoping that some one can help me with this one. I recently found a board with 8 red LS leds epoxied to it. I was able to desolder them with no problems, but for the life of me can not get them off of the board. They seem to be expoxied down to the heat sink and I have already ruined two of the LEDs trying to remove them. I am trying to salvage them for a project that I am working on. Considering putting one in a new Streamlight TL-2.
Can someone please give some much appreciated insite????

Heat the board to 170 F. If the board is Al, you can try bending it with the bend line running under the LED sink. This should allow you access under the sink to pop the emitter off.
