Hi all,

i have an unused aftermarket 35w HID, the problem is the connector between the bulb and the ballast is different(different brand). Can i use JST-XH connector to replace the old connector? because i have plenty JST-XH around.

FYI. i am going to put this ballast & bulb inside 50w halogen spotlight.
JST plug DX SKU 15234

Thanks.

A pic of the connector would be helpful. But in general, as long as you have good pin contact and the wire and connector body are insulated for about 25KV, then you're good to go.

i am worried about the 25kv, since both contact in JST connector is really closed together. I guess that is why original connector is seperated for both anode and cathode.

@BVH: I bough JST from DX DX

thanks all

Proximity of connectors is only a concern if you have high current/voltage that may heat up and cause short.

Biggest concern is the AWG size of wiring and resistance of connector as it relates to power going through. Smaller size (higher AWG) wire and flimsy connector has more resistance and will heat up vs. larger wire (lower AWG rating) and better connector (Anderson Powerpole/Sermos, large Tamiya, or Deans)
