I have been wondering if any company make high capacity replacement battery for SF and Streamlight. As SF and Streamlight are quite popular amoung LEO community, it should have enough demand for such market.

I guess either there're not many lazy people like me or most of these lights are supplied by department and users don't give a damn?

I didn't forget maglite. I thought 2.4 A is already the highest capacity for 1/2 D cells or I missed something more powerful.

You're right and I haven't thought of purchasing practices of those departments.

2.4A is the highest for NiCds AFAIK but I personally saw NiMhs 1/2Ds at 3700ma lately.

Gman,

I saw them in my local electronic shop - the manufacturer is called WEC and is in Taiwan AFAIK - the shop ordered them on my request but what came in were without the button tops so I didn´t bought them - the guy is trying to get me some with button tops - I was thinking to modify a Mag3D to a Mag Charger clone with 5 of them - if you plan to built a pack its OK with these anyway - I was planning to use them like normal cells in "single" mode so-to-say. Unfortunately I didn´t found anything about WEC on the web so far and don´t know where in the US you might get those - will try to look it up though.

Regards

Klaus
