I'm fairly sure the Duracell 2650mAh batteries came with a good warranty, certainly longer than 1 year.

Well, I don't have the package anymore and Duracell is refusing to honor it. Could someone post a photo of the back of the package showing the warranty statement?

I tried to file a warranty claim and this is what Duracell corporation stated:

Duracell: How long have you had them for?

Me: Year or two

Duracell: How many times have you used it?

Me: Less than 30 times

Duracell: You need to buy new ones, they're only going to last about a year or so. (that's not what the damn package said.)

The duracell warranty only covers for 1 year from the original date of purchase. If you can prove to them that you have only had these for about a year (say about a year) and you know for a fact you have only used them for 30 charge cycles before they died, state that it has been only about a year and they have prematurely died.

I'm going to find the package. I'm pretty sure it was longer than a year.. if it's a year oh well.. if it's lifetime.. well someone's getting a box full of them back

Hello Handlobraesing,

When I read what Duracell responded with, I had to chuckle... :)

I believe they misinterpreted their internal information. I believe that the shelf life of normal NiMh cells is around 2 years. If they are not used before that, they don't work very well.

I just had a close look at the packaging for the pre-charged Duracells, and it does not contain any mention of the warranty, which will probably be the case with their other varieties as well.

It might be worthwhile to use the following contact page to ask for a complete copy of the warranty for the 2650s (valid for your state) without giving them a reason for the request other than it wasn't available with the product:

You can then make your own determination as to whether it should reasonably cover your situation, and also make your case for coverage from a more informed position.

I've had a lot of Duracell batteries go bad and every time, I was never asked about the length of time I had them. Every times, they sent me a pre-paid return label with a coupon to get free packs to replace them. If you e-mailed, try to call, and vice-versa. You may get someone more helpful. They usually reply fast to e-mails! I think there are still 2650 mAh cells sold here. I don't have the 2650 package anymore but I can't remember anything about warranty length except the usual "If it breaks your device, we will replace it". I had a Duracell Pre-Charged leak in a 15 minutes charger. I got a coupon to replace it with 4, even if I told them it was only one cell that was bad. I also sold my 15 minutes charger as I was tired to have batteries leak with it...

That is the same service I received last time, when I had to make a warranty claim. Perhaps they have way too many of them going bad they're trying to weasel their way out?

This time I emailed them and got no reply, so I bugged them by phone and they gave me that :\

Exactly what problem are you having with them?
