First off, I'm super excited there's a whole forum dedicated to budget lights now, having everything tossed into the one thread was lame.

Now my main reason for posting.

I have the rc-29 and love it so I want to get a rc-c6 as well. I heard someone complain about the runtime though saying theres got about 10 minutes before it started dimming, this can't be right can it? I figure they either had a fault light or batteries.

Also can anyone compare the brightness/runtimes of the WW vs the Q5 from shiningbeam? If possible also when running off 2xAA?

Thanks!

Have got the DX version of the C6. Very nice little light. Runtime on 123A rechargeables are 45 to 60 minutes.

Very bright. Running it with the extensiontube from my N3 on AA Eneloops it is nearly as bright, but with a longer runtime.

I have got the G2 II Q5 from Shiningbeam and its an excellent light and I expect the C6 II from him to be the same.

Thanks!

This is such a great light, don't know why there isn't more info on it.

Keep in mind that the RC-C6 is *tiny*. And, while the RC-29 has a square section to help screw/unscrew the head, the RC-C6 doesn't. I kept unscrewing the tailcap by accident.

About runtime, the ShiningBeam version has and advantage: since it has 2 levels (high and "not-so-high"), you can use the "not-so-high" level for extended runtime without a big difference in lumens.

Yeah I had considered that. I'm not too worried about the thing with twisting it, honestly I will probably use it 95% of the time in its fully unfocused mode. I also plan to mostly use it with 2xAA which should make it much easier to grip.

I guess you're going to use your N3 extension tube on the C6? Mine worked like that but I had to have the tubes tightened down good or I'd get a bit of flicker sometimes. As is, the C6 was just too short for my taste.

Yeah I plan to use it with the extension tube.

Did you have the q5 or the WW version?
