Pros:
If you push the power button, the flashlight will turn on**.

** Unless the power button has been turned on in your pocket, and the battery is dead. The likelihood of this happening is about 99.99%, because the power button protrudes well beyond the metal 'ears' on the tail cap, and requires about an OUNCE of pressure, to turn it on, and the default is 'high' mode. Output in the 'high' mode is 30 to 45 minutes, at best.

Cons:

The power switch protrudes from the tail cap, about a quarter inch or a bit less, and as little as an ounce of pressure, will turn the light on in momentary mode. If you put it in a pocket, it WILL get turned on, draining the battery.

The light is incapable of remembering the mode it was in when shut off. Instead, it ALWAYS turns on in the 'high' mode. Always.

The flashlight is large and heavy, for its output, only 115 lumens on high, and its single AA cell. It's nearly a THIRD longer than my Nitecore D10. It's HUGE! It's 116mm long. A single AA cell is exactly 50mm long. It's LONGER than TWO AA cells.

The lanyard that comes with it is the cheapest Chinese garbage possible. You know the one: a (very small) loop of decent thickness nylon, connected to a small loop of really THIN string, so they can save the cost of providing a small split ring, to mount a DECENT lanyard to the light. It's an insult. I would NEVER trust a flashlight to that piece of trash.

There is a separate button to change modes, instead of using the main power switch. It has a small and difficult to use 'mode switch', below and to one side of the power switch. It's small, and hard to feel. It cannot be manipulated with gloves on. I just hate it.

The 'medium' power level, the one I WOULD HAVE used the most, is a claimed '60 lumens'. It's not even CLOSE to 60 lumens. Comparisons to other flashlights, and the use of a light meter, show the 'medium' output level to be about 25 - 35 lumens, at best. The 'factory specifications' are a work of wishful thinking. The 'high' level does seem close to its claimed output, but battery life is dismal, at best, on 'high'.

There is no way to keep the flashlight from turning on accidentally, except to remove the battery from the flashlight. You can unscrew the head until it comes off, and it will still turn on. The tail cap, if it is a separate piece (I can't tell) is not removable. And, as I stated, this light is practically DESIGNED to turn on accidentally.

The 'factory specifications' for run time are wildly inaccurate. In my tests, I got from one THIRD, to one HALF, at BEST, of the claimed 'run time', (1.5 hours) in the 'high' mode, using both alkaline, and high quality (Eneloop, and some 2500MAH AA cells) NiMH batteries. My run times were 29 minutes(alkaline), to 47 minutes(2500MAH NiMH). The 'specs'. are for 1.5 hours, but they don't tell you what kind of battery they used, to obtain this supposed 'run time'.

The holster that comes with the flashlight is made for a longer flashlight, and, for all practical purposes, is worthless for carrying this flashlight. The light goes down so far into the holster, that to get it back out, you have to push up on the bottom of the holster. I'm guessing this holster was originally made for a considerably longer flashlight, and they just decided to use it for this one, too.

The clip that comes with the flashlight is, you guessed it: a VERY poor design. Using it is a good way to lose this marvel of low quality engineering. The clip pops off the light with VERY little 'pull'. Don't trust the clip, AT ALL. Also, the clip mounts low on the light, allowing 40mm to stick out of your pocket. This practically guarantees that you will bash and scrape it on various surfaces, and that it will snag on something, and pop off that poor quality 'clip'. A bad clip is worse, by FAR, than no clip at all.

I own quite a few flashlights. Most of them are fairly expensive, in the $50 to $150 range This TerraLux TT-2 has GOT to be the absolute WORST flashlight I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing.

Never before have I EVER seen SO MANY really AWFUL features on one flashlight. And that includes the carp that Mag Instruments makes. Their flashlights are near Nobel Prize material for engineering, compared to this TerraLux TT-2.

I got this light it on a special purchase, for about HALF PRICE, with FREE SHIPPING. Guess what? It's NOT WORTH the $29 and some odd cents I paid for it. Not by a long shot.

My most likely plan is to give this TerraLux TT-2 to the brother I REALLY hate, for Christmas. Last year, this idiot sent me the complete series of Gilligan's Island. I'd rather eat broken glass, than watch any of that. I want to get even with him for that insult. An expensive looking, but totally worthless flashlight, should do the job. The TerraLux TT-2 is made to order, for the job.

Give one to someone you hate.

How do you really feel about it?

That made me laugh!

To be fair, I have a Terralux 310EX dropin in one of my Maglites and it's a ripper of a light. Somewhere around 700-800otf lumens in the most perfect beam I've ever owned. I have some other Terralux products that have been getting used for a few years now and perform flawlessly.

OP, you may have just got a dud. Then again, from my experience with Nitecore, they are the worst flashlight ever made, yet some people (usually newbies) swear by them.

good honest review man ! it makes a nice change from the usual sweet flower petal reviews we get !
i had one of there tripple mag dropins i loved it and would buy one of there lights based on this, glad i havnt.

I do swear by my nitecore EX11..........And NEX.......and D10......and IFE1 :D
