Curious... whats everyone's take on this? Is it a waste of everyones time and forum band-width to post reviews of older, maybe even discontinued lights?

curious...
:grin2:

Nope. Not a waste of time. New lights are great, but the only way to tell how they will stand up over time is to.... let time pass and EDC the light.

I actually have a long-term review of my Fenix P3D Q5 that I often use as a work light, coming soon.

I think it's a good idea. Most older lights are still on the market and people may still want to check them out, especially collectors or bargain hunters (if the lights have dropped in price over the years).

Even if the lights are discontinued, they are easily found at many online stores, ebay, the marketplace, ect. Plus, if you include decent stats with your review, it makes for just plain ol' good reading for stat whores such as myself.

Depends upon what they are and how 'reviewed' they already are I would think. If they were done by Doug it would be Hard to beat Doug's reviews on Flashlight reviews for a lot of older lights though isnt it? Unless you are comparing them to newer lights or have some unique slant on them that has not been already covered.

Just my view.

I, for one, would certainly enjoy reading those reviews.

Especially when they can be compared to a "modern" standard.

Gee, since when have we ever complained about Too Much information ?

I enjoy reading such reviews, even when the light is old. Often I won't buy a light until late in its run, so the more opinions the merrier.

I would enjoy reviews of older lights, though I do agree Doug's site is very, very good!

I also agree that the more information/opinions the better.

I'm just taking a guess here, but I think Kramer is probably considering doing video reviews of older lights.

I really like his video reviews. They are very well done and have actually helped me make purchasing decisions.

Nothing like "seeing" the light in actual use to get an idea if its a light or drop-in you may want.
