Well it's not a full fledge review. Sorry guys, no runtime charts and lux readings from me. I'm just a normal flashlight user. :nana:

I JUST got my REX2.0 less than a half hour ago. Couldn't wait to turn it on. It was quite a surprise from the mailman since I didn't remember ordering anything lately.

So here are the pictures.. I'll get a shot of my hallway in a bit and compare it to my L1D CE. Overall the quality is pretty nice. The only flaw I see is the non-centered emitter. Other than that I don't see any defects that catch my eye right away.
Oh, I'm not liking the interface. It seems like I have to cycle through the light to get it to start on "turbo" mode when I turn it on if I don't let it sit for a few seconds after I turn it off. Does that make sense?

I like the interface, simpler than the Jetbeams.
You must wait 5 seconds on turbo, or any other mode, in order for the light to
turn on in that mode. Also, an accidental tap (after 5 sec) will keep it in the current mode.

Yep. I really like the UI as well. It works great if you know how to use it correctly. When I first opened it up I thought it was a little confusing as well, but after a few minutes of messing around with it I started to really like it.

I always keep it so that it comes back on it Low.
The real plus to this light is that all levels work with a 14500, unlike the Fenix lights which only give its highest level.

Got mine this weekend (actually, it showed up this friday on my birthday but I missed it). I'm not liking it. First of all the order was incomplete since I didn't get the batteries I ordered specifically for this light so I had to make due with a NiMh so I haven't seen what kind of output it's capable of. The emitter is off center, how hard is it to do this properly? But I guess I'm nitpicking since it doesn't really affect performance much, it just seems like such a simple thing to fix and it really bugs me when they cheap out on trivial things like this.

The O-rings were installed but bone dry. Again, is it hard to dab on some lube before screwing it together? Such a small detail that is easy (and will cost basically nothing) to fix and would give a much better first impression.

It seems that you have to screw on the tailcap quite hard for it to turn on properly. I actually thought I had gotten a dud the first time I tried to turn it on. I changed batteries three times before realizing I had to give it a harder twist. I haven't tried installing the little washer thingy they included, that might help.

The flicker on low is VERY noticable to me. Try using it on low and "scanning" over a surface. In other words, sweep the light over a surface and track it with your eyes. Talk about seeing double... or triple... It is somewhat noticable on med as well but you have to really look for it so it doesn't bother me at all.

The UI feels very awkward to me. I know how it's supposed to work but for me it just isn't practical. Often I just flash the light real quick when I need to see something and I prefer the brightest mode. And since strobe is right after high it's not uncommon to be greeted by a nice disorientating strobe when you turn it on the next time.

On the plus side the finish looks nice (I got the black one). The switch gives a very distinct click when used, it's not "mushy" like some other switches can be. And it feels quite solid in your hand.

I don't think I'll be keeping this one around. I might give it to a buddy to give him a first taste of a mid range flashlight.
