Hi Gang,
I've posted on 3 gunsmithing forums so far to no luck, but..

1)Anyone know of any plans out there for a Benchrest style windage top? I figure it's be fun to build, not all that hard, and cheaper than the nearly $200 they sell for

2)If not, here's a set of questions - how much Y axis teavel fo you think they should have? 1 Inch enough?

3)How crazy should I go constraining the x and Z axis of the top? Just sliding? Line bored drill rod? Turcite ways? Maybe just HDPE slides?

Here is the top I've been working on - my own design. The Adjuster has not been made yet, and the debate is "do I try and anodize it?"

I have not done any pro type benchrest shooting, though I of course have used bench rests while sighting in my rifles. Can you provide a link to a similar complete setup that has what you want. Might be easier for our machine shop modders to visualize.
