RIP Donna Summer

I was shocked to hear that she died of cancer. She had a powerful and expressive voice, very similar to Aretha Franklin's.

Last Dance has been playing in my head since I heard the news...

Terry Gross of "Fresh Air", had a great recorded interview with Donna Summer on today. Probably available as a podcast, worth listening to.

I never realized how many hits she had until a news blurb played a bunch of her singles back to back; this woman made like half of the female-vocal disco songs I know..
