Hello all, I'm new here and this is my first post, I'll admit to knowing very little about torches, that's why I'm here to ask the experts instead!

The long and short... I recently ordered a Romisen RC-B12 flashlight from best offerbuy, based on a couple of good reviews, it's output, the fact that it fits my Fenix large filter and it comes with a pressure switch too, essential for its intended use.

Thing is, it has two UV lights built into it, which to me are totally unnecessary, so I wondered is there a simple, single mode, equally high output drop-in I can buy to replace the one in the torch? I've tried to figure it out but I cannot decipher the many terms with these things.

I'd rather not have to do any soldering if possible unless its really, really simple. I do have a soldering iron, it's the gas powered type, but it's not something I do very often to be honest. Thanks in advance and thanks for being such obsessive flashaholics.:twothumbs

Looks to be fairly straight forward to swap the UV led's for a couple white ones, so you gain a low white mode.

Thanks for the quick reply Marduke. When you say it should be a straightforward swap to exchange the leds, is that a solder job or do you just pull them out and push a new one in?

Also, how do I know which leds to replace them with...you can now tell my level of expertise!:hitit:

It looks like you can easily solder white LEDs in place of the UVs. There are pics of the pill taken apart on DX... SKU:16847

It doesn't look like its P60 capable although its hard to tell.

can you post impressions and pics of this light when it arrives? I have had my eye on it for a little while.

Sure, I can post pics on thoughts/ impressions when and IF it arrives (been processing for the last five days). Would you consider a trade of review for helping an absolute novice out with the fitting of the new LEDs?

I really haven't a clue were to begin, hoping it makes more sense when it arrives.
