Hi - I just got my parts for my MAg ROP project...my first :devil: !

It seems when I screw the lens/bezel on it goes to just the o-ring(not the lens one, the one it screws down to).

Well..that's were it stops. It seems the reflector (cammed) may not be sitting right...or am I suppose to get a larger o-ring?

So much for plug and pray!

BTW - It is giggly bright for my first project.
 
What reflector did you get? I have one of the gen2 FM ones and the bezel sits a little further out than stock, but not by much, less than 1mm. What lens are you using, is it any thicker than the stock one?

I just ordered these from fivemega:
6AA to 2D $37
Aluminum cammed reflector $25 (I sent him a PM to find out which one).
Pack of ROP (3854) Hi and Low $10

And a Boro lens - thicker than stock....but not as thick as the gap.

Seems a little odd. There is nothing that you can see in the way of the reflector sitting into the head all the way? Are you installing this with the head on or off the light? Maybe try it without the cam on the reflector.:shrug:

I tried it with both. No luck.
I'll look for a picture of one that I bought and see if it's the same.

edit - the reflector is sitting all the way down but not near flush like the plastic one. This one does not taper near the top...it squares up.
Cam on or off does not matter.

Ok. I have a 52.1mm x 2mm lens.

It seems that may be the problem. dunno?!

So, do I take the bezel down or do another fix...or change the lens?

Or could it be something else.

oh - it's a MOP reflector from fivemega. (very nice!!!)

OK...It seems the reflector is bottoming causing it to not seat properly.

Any suggestion on how to easily clamp for a lathe?
