Royal Blue and Red CREE?

Evening-

I've been looking to get some Royal Blue and Red cree's for a grow light- with the ebay 30% off promo right now I can pick up a couple Xitaniums (shhhh) 40W units for under 40$ each.

Deal Extreme seems to have R/B Crees but no specs, other than what folks have guessed at. I'm willing to order 3 to get the discount and check them out, but I'd really rather not waste too much time there.

Then again, I suppose I could always pick up a few 5W units and hook them up too for some ambient lighting...

I only have one blue cree from dx, and its definitely not royal blue. Its not cyan, but just a solid blue. I was looking for royal blue as well, and was pretty disappointed.

I found another thread talking about ledengin LEDs and their use- Mouser sells them but at 29$ for 10W units it's pretty expensive... even with the 1.9 to 2.8 watts radiant power. Sigh.

You may want to look into a different company besides cree for the reds as they will be very hard to come by at efficient enough binning for what you want to accomplish. Try cutter's website for the royal blues.
