I had something strange happen today with my RRT-0.

I clicked the light on high and it came on for about one second and went off. I clicked it on and off a few times, cycled the selector ring, turned it on and off again and nothing.

I unscrewed the head and screwed it back on again and it started working properly. :poke:

Its running a protected AW RCR123 and I checked the voltage and it was 3.97

Was this possibly the discharge protection of the light or the battery protection kicking in? Or was it just a glitch in the light?

Was the body tighten together properly, or was it slightly loose? I had this happen once, but found the body unscrewed just a little and I just tightened the body for it to work correctly.

same thing happened to me.

clicked it on, and it wouldnt stay on for more than a split second.

quickly found out the body wasnt completely tightened.

It's a rev2 light. I think the body was tight, but can't be 100% sure. I will keep this in mind if it happens again.

Mine just stopped working. I pressed on the switch when it did come back on and the light varied in brightness. Switch issue?

I just took my light and barely (and I do mean BARELY) loosened it and it didn't come on. Did the same thing with the light on and it immediately went off.

I guess if it is the slightest bit loose, it will not function properly or even not at all.

I've isolated the problem in mine to the switch. The light was intermittent to the point of not coming on at all and when it did work, the brightest setting was about 15% down from what it should have been. I removed the rear retaining ring around the button cover, then with the head removed, pushed the battery from the front to dislodge the switch circuit board out the back. I tested the switch with the continuity function of my VOM, 3 out of 5 times the switch did not close. I sprayed some DeOxit and cycled the switch several times. Reassembled and it works fine now.

Just a heads up, I'll be in touch with the manufacturer.

Sounds similar to member jefierro's problem and solution:

Glad to hear yours is better now.
