Note:
Since my test environment is far from optimal, lux readings on my charts cannot be accurate. Actually, in my setup, the light sensor is close to the floor and I found the lux reading could be 10% lower if I cut the reflection from the floor. So please don't compare the lux reading with others (or at least take the above statement into consideration) because the test setup can be very different.

FYI, I once tried putting the flashlight itself on the floor and I saw the lux reading was 40% higher than my normal setup because of the reflection. You can see how the lux reading can vary depending on the setup from this.

I'm going to get a dummy AA cell to see runtimes with 1AA this weekend...

Anyway, I took a few more measurements of 2AA configurations and put all data to one chart.

Runtime tests of Badboy + 5W configurations

I uploaded some runtime charts of Badboy + 5W configurations.
[*]PM6/BB700/V4U runtime chart on my PM6 page.
[*]McLux PR/BB750/X3T runtime chart on my McLux page.
[*]McLux PR/BB777/W4T runtime chart on my SureFire L1 mod page.

I'm using Sanyo cells for most runtime measurements for consistency. However, in these high power applications, SureFire and Panasonic cells will work better than Sanyo.

Looks like great data. Unfortunately I am having trouble sorting out the colors of some of the curves. Would it be possible to number the individual lines?

Doug,

Are you referring to the MiniMag 2AA sandwiches chart above? I modified the chart a little to indicate which is which more clearly, but I also think it's hard to read this chart. I would suggest checking out charts on my site, which are sorted out by either converter or battery, if you've not looked at them yet.

I am especially interested in this, as I have a Madmax Lite driving a Q3J 1W HD in an Electrolumens FT-3C body. It runs great, but the MM shuts down at 1.6V, nowhere near the 'approximately .8V' spec. listed at the Shoppe. I haven't done a run time test on alkaline cells yet, but a pair of cheap zinc-carbon cells will go for 4 1/2 hours.

In case of MM-Lite, your graph show that runtime by Nimh-cell is approx. double of the runtime by alkaline-cell.
Is this true ? I don't understand. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's reasonable as far as I see the battery specifications from manufacturers.

Copy/paste the chart into Word and enlarge it until the lines are thick enough to clearly see the colors.
