Long time since I've posted here. Since then, I have electrified my xtracycle with a 48 volt battery. I'd like to drive a P7 with that battery. I bought this dc converter:

I have the SSC P7 CSXOI 12W LED Star and

KD Super Output SSC P7 LED Driver Board (Low/High/Middle,5.5V~15V). (will not use?)

Now, I am thinking to just drive the LED directly from the 6 volt/3 amp output. Do I need an additional resistor in series or can the LED handle it? I have an old pentium I CPUC heatsink to use as well.

You can do it likes but the emitter and the driver board will get really hot.

I was thinking about doing away with the driver board. Direct drive from the converter.

Success! The P7 is running off the kaidomain driver connected to the 12 volt, 1 amp ouput. The driver is in the headset. I also have a dinotte tail-light running off the 6 volt, 3 amp output.
