Runtime - Help Needed

Hi,

I am looking to figure out what runtime I would get from the terralux TLE-300M dropin when used in my 6D mag with 6 x 10Ah D cell 1.2 NiMH Accupower LSD's.

I have seen somewhere that this unit consumes 12W, which I assume is full power.

Can someone give me an idea of runtimes for each mode and explanation?

Hmmm .... I think most of the information you need to calculate the
runtime can be found in this thread

According to that thread, the drop in uses K2 TFFC emitters driven at 1A
All you need to do is look up the K2s forward voltage from the datasheet
(use Google to get the datasheet ;) )


Someone else more qualified needs to chime in on this :D

Thanks tx. Best estimate then is over 5 hours of runtime with this setup. Seems pretty good considering the output in the region of 600 - 700 lumens.

It's quite simple: the energy in your battery pack is 7.2 [V] * 10 [Ah] = 72 [Wh]
Power consumption is 12 [W]
Runtime is 72 [Wh] / 12 [W] = 6 [h].
A safe bet is 5 hours indeed.
