What should my runtime be using a SL6 8watt bulb and six 4500 mAh C batteries?

Thanks
JT

If those are primary cells I'd guess two hours max, and probably less, because alky ratings are at low drain. If it's rechargeable cells that are actually holding 4500mAh, then I'd guess at 3 - 4 hours. Let us know what your results are.

Lets see, six cells times 4.5 Ah times 1.2 Volts is 32.5 Watt hours. Divided by 8 Watts is 4 hours and a few minutes, right?

I like to be conservative when estimating R/Ts before actually testing an electrical device. Perhaps it's just my batch of cells, which are four years old, but with a one amp load they provide less capacity than with a 200 - 500 mA load. That's why I mentioned a lower limit of three hours.

Another consideration is that, unless matched, one or more cells may have enough less capacity to affect R/T.

I prefer to calculate the least amount of time a device will operate. Betcha didn't think there was anything conservative about me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sssh.gif

I will do a test and see. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the info.
