I am looking at a good small led flashlight that I can carry in my pocket and a local store carries some smith and wesson a.k.a. powertech compact flashlights. It is a 3w Cree diode with a toted 85 lumens and about 4 hours of runtime. Has anyone heard of or used one of these? I don't know if it is regulated to give a near constant output for the 4 hours or if it is really bright for a little bit, then gradually dims...either quickly or gradually. It is powered by a single 123a battery and they are going for $38. Do you think this would be a good light or any other suggestions? I want something bright with good throw and more than an hour or two of life. Thanks.

Like I said, it runs off of a single 123a battery. I am just trying to decide this one an something like one of the Fenix lights that run off of a single AA battery. The more research I do, the more I am leaning towards the Fenix lights...123a batteries are expensive!

Found out a little more info on the light. Apparently it is not a regulated light. It utilizes a resistor instead of a regulator. What I can't seem to find out however is any kind of a output/runtime chart...that would be perfect! I want to know what kind of brightness I can expect out of the toted 4 or so hours of runtime they claim. I don't know if it hits 50% at 4 hours or what?
