Please help - i implore you :(

A bit of background..... (please don't say "i told you so" lol) I have a trustfire TR-1200 and have been very happy with it for my purposes..... well that was until i dropped it! So off i went hunting, which by the way is how i come across you guys (hellooo). I am ashamed of how many hours i have spent looking for the "replacement". I did at the same time decide to upgrade. Now i searched and searched and to be honest i appear to be turning into a trainee torch geek - why else would i spend 10's of hours deciding what i want..... I eventually decided on one ( don't cringe) i picked theThrunite TN30. It was a torch that ticked my boxes - fairly good looking, spec'd as very bright, takes my 18650 batteries, and thought it would make my friends with Lenser P14's go "oooooooooh" . To cut that part of the story short, the company i ordered it from shafted me and i am now not getting that torch. Was i saved????

So, i need a torch..... I would like it quite quickly:

It needs to be usable with 18650's - i have loads of them
Budget upto $150
It needs to be bright, something floody throwy, not to insistent on one over the other
I like nice looking torches - although beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Modes - on and off........ the rest is a bonus, i love buttons and lights!
Switch location - prefer it not to be on the end, but not essential
I want it to outshine the trustfire TR1200

Other than that....... i am soooo fed up going round in circles and there are so many Chinese torches out there that i have not heard of so i would appreciate some of your greater knowledge and experience

Since my thrunite order ordeal - i have actually re ordered a new TR 1200, but still want the above :))

Fankooooo

Oh btw - I am in the UK

You could get the Thrunite TN30 from Thrunite themselves (Thrunite store). There's also the SkyRay King if you don't want to spend that much money (2000 lumen out the front, 2 mode, 4 18650 batteries)

Have you taken apart your current light to see what has gone wrong with it?

Also, did you get good 18650 batteries? Many of the cheap ones have may over rated spec and are iffy on quality.

:welcome:

Thanks for the reply gunner.....

In the interim of my first blabbering, it would appear the mention of legal action has made the supplier of my TN30 re think their position - it is now on it's way .... yayyyyy

I did take the TR-1200 apart, and there is nothing obvious without doing component testing which is easier said than done with these new pcb surface mount components. It wasn't a bank breaker though so i am resigned to getting a new one and having plenty of spare parts.... if all else fails - i can make a walking stick from the main body parts lol

The batteries i have are trustfire ones...... i understand them to be genuine ones but i'm no expert. They have served my TR-1200 well. I did also buy some 4000mA ones, but from my endless trawling through these forums, i seem to recall reading that it is impossible to get one of such large capacity, so perhaps they are fakes. One thing i did read on a lot pages was the recommendation to have good batteries.......... so here i go again!!!!!!!! I think i will spend more time searching these forums than i will with my torch when it arrives lolol

thx
