I have been working on a super powerful LED spotlight, to be remotely controlled.
Made from an Intel CPU heatsink with fan, Cree CXA 87 watt LED, 80mm aspheric lens, and 3D printed parts. A servo will telescope the lens, from flood to throw.
Here is a video of my progress so far

I am waiting for some new parts to arrive in the mail, like a proper servo controller. I am working on designing a new larger heatsink/lens assembly. I bought a 100mm aspheric lens, it's on the way, but I'm still looking for something bigger, like 120mm diameter or bigger. Also, I am shopping for other super powerful LED's. I have been considering the XML2 Hi, but that's not powerful enough. Yuji's 500watt LED is too expensive. I am looking for something about 100-200 Watts, with the smallest possible area size. I am looking for LED and driver recommendations.
Please feel free to comment your thoughts, and feedback. I will post here with updates, and post new pictures and videos as this project progresses.
