Anybody know what kind of coating SF uses to make their beamshaper lenses translucent? Or is it the way the lens is made rather than a coating?

Wow, I proved Al wrong with Surefire parts...

This looks like the same stuff used in laptop screens to diffuse the light from the CCFT to provide an even lighting behind the LCD. IF you can get your hands on a broken laptop, you should be able to salvage some from the screen.
