I am doing a project involving some machining work, but don't have an M3 handy to take measurements from. Would anyone be so kind as to post or PM the following measurements from an M3?
tail/head threadpitch and OD
overall length
Inner Diameter
length of the the threads (the distance from the top of the threaded portion to the stop that keeps you from screwing the head and tail in too far).
And yes, I am machining a replacement M3 body. The first was lost to the bottom of a lake (I was changing the batteries, the body dropped in, I fished it out, but took the head off to dump the water out, at which point the body itself was knocked in by an associate and not recovered quickly enough). Since I can't seem to buy a body, I figured I'd make one that happened to be compatible, for the time being.
On another subject, wouldn't it be handy to have a sticky thread with general light measurements such as ID, OD, threadpitch, overall length, and the "lengh from thread to stop point" on the common lights (and the not so common ones, even)? It would sure help with the "will my fancy TUZ394875 clickie lockout twistie dual level tailcap fit on my G2?" type of questions, as well as provide a starting point for people who want look into machining compatible parts.
