I was toying with the idea of constructing a Shear Plate Collimator. I did some research and found out that it is a wedge shaped plano-plano BK-7 glass. Would it be practical to make one using a wedge shaped prism? I'd buy one but this would be an item I'd use once in a while. Purpose is for collimating laser beam.
