Short Review; P1D CE

This has to be the least informative and least detailed review I have ever seen. I have learned nothing. On the other hand, I agree with you entirely, and applaud you on your ability to convey the feelings brought on by the P1D-CE in 1 word. Really. I just, I just-agree. Nothing more can be said. I agree. Man, oh man, do I agree! :goodjob:

This review is great indeed. The only problem is that I don't know what to do with all the minutes this saved me!

I know what you mean. I got mine several days ago. I really like the fact that it is regulated, meaning that I know that the light is going to have the same level of brightness until the battery dies. Amazingly, I have already had a real world experience with this lite that proved it's worth. My son and I were patching the shake roof on the small cabin back in our woods. It got dark and since he is no quitter and I had the P1D CE, I stood on the ground with him on the roof and provided all the light he needed. My Dorcey 1 watt, that I just happened to have, :grin2: lit up the ground around my feet so I didn't trip over limbs. As we were going back to the main house, with him carrying the 12 ft. ladder I lit his path with the Cree and my own path with the Dorcey. How cool is that? Sorry for the long story, but I am SOOO impressed. Why couldn't I have had something like this when I was a kid, or maybe I still am at 63 and counting. Anyway, great lights and I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Uncle Ken

Thank you very much for sharing your impressions about this nice light.

I do like the pictures, specially the beamshots. It must be a great effort to do that.:lolsign:

Best regards

Glad you all liked the review.
OK, here's what I really think.
The thing is amazingly small for the amount of light it puts out.
Size was a big factor in my choice of this light as I wanted to EDC it.
It fits in the coin pocket of my jeans nicely. However, this kinda interferes with the knife that I carry. So I just drop it in my pocket and it disappears until needed. Does anyone have any comments on how the anodization holds up when subjected to daily carry rubbing against other metal things?
Threads on mine are nice and smooth with no wobble.
The beam does have several rings, but like mentioned elsewhere, they totally disappear outside.
Having 3 different light levels is really useful although there's not much of a visible difference between med and high.
Strobe is really cool, for what I don't know but cool nonetheless.
SOS is useless and way too slow.
The most amazing thing to me though, is how far it throws outside.
In another thread, I asked about which light to use for mountain biking at night on the helmet. I think this thing will do nicely.
Fit and finish on the light are excellent.
The knurling around the head is perfect, not too rough, not too smooth.
The LED is off from center by just an eyelash.
The anodization is perfectly black everywhere and the printing is beautiful.
This could be the only light anyone ever needs.
Yep, I'm one happy camper!

It sure is a damn good light for the size. I used it last week for some field work in the ceiling spaces and man, it just lit up the entire area. Now only if Fenix would make a 2 cell version in exact body shape and a tail cap switch (I don't care much for the L2 body)

I would also like a bigger Fenix light, but I like AAs, just a 2AAs with a much bigger head for more throw, or maybe a 4AA, like the SL PP 4AA but uber brigth. That would have been neat! But I don't think Fenix will ever go for that niche, smaller EDC-lights is what they seem to go for, not general allpurpose work lights.
