shorted KL1 driver - can it be repaired?

While modding the KL1 last night, I accidentally shorted the output wires with a cr123 loaded.
Zero output now.
I have already replaced it with a different driver.

But, I hate destroying stuff on accident.

Does anyone know what may have failed when it was shorted?
