I just noticed that shiningbeam now has the rc-c8 II listed for sale(go Bryan!). However, I have seen some really negative reviews of this light around cpf but I can't tell if these people just don't like the c8 or all of romisen's zooming lights. Basically, what I want from the rc-c8 II is for it to be exactly the same as the rc-c6 but alot brighter. It would also be nice if its modes were more spaced out too but my mainly I want it to be brighter.

Can anyone who owns the non shiningbeam C8 give me some insight?

As a sidenote, they now have R4 versions of the rc-n3!

I emailed Bryan and he said that it is in fact brighter and his versions usually do have improved drivers. I will probably have to pull the trigger on this guy. Too bad they didn't put an R4 in this guy as they just did with the rc-n3

Hmm I'm don't know about the C8 but i've been in touch with Bryan and he mentioned the C6 will be getting the R4 soon!

ooh, good to know. Although, there is really only so much light you can get out of 1 CR123, that is why I'm really interested in the C8. Although if they are making one with an r4 maybe they will do the same for the other.

In my dealings with Bryan he has been most helpful with any Q,s I had & got back to me in 20 minutes with the answer! I don't know how he can do so but, I am glad he is able to do so. This guy is one of the best in my book. My RC-G2 rocks that I got from Bryan at Shiningbeam & shipping is about as fast as you can get IMHO.

Romisen C8 has poor design of lens.
Create something of flood in the throw position.

You can see in this review.

Thanks, yeah that it was I had read before. I think I will still get it though. They did improve the driver, and I use my C6 more for flood. I also ordered the 2 dollar 28mm aspheric lens from DX so maybe switching it with that will improve it.
