NO! It used to be highly recommended, but it was changed to use a very weak driver.
What ought to be a great light is now a pile of turd.
If you want a bright light, I'd recommend spending a bit of extra cash to get one with an actual warranty from a dealer with good customer service.
My picks:
*The itp A6 Polestar is 80 bucks and works great. Its very floody but you can certainly see down the street with it. 3 brightness levels, 6xAA batteries. No need for 18650s if you don't have a charger for them already.
*The P-Rocket seems to be a good pick. 70 bucks, 1x18650, 3Amp SST-50. Its one of the cheaper decently made lights from shiningbeam.
If you want cheap, you are best off getting an MC-E light or a P7 from dealextreme or the like. However doing so is a gamble.
