Are there any small single D battery lanterns? With the current LED technology, it seems that a single D would have enough voltage to power a small personal lantern, but I don't know of any. I would like one for the sake of having one, but more importantly, I always have a spare D hanging around due to my 3D and 4D mag-lite.

The only single D lanterns I'm aware of are the Energizer Accent Lanterns. I did once see a cheaper lookalike at a Dollar General store, but that was a few years ago. The Energizers haven't been seen for a few years either. It's too bad. I use them frequently. They used to be sold in a 3-pack box. Not very bright, with a very diffused light. Goes forever on a D batt (advertised 200 hr.).
